DUMBO OPEN STUDIOS 2026!
April 18–19, DUMBO Open Studios offers access to artist workspaces throughout Brooklyn’s waterfront. A center of the city’s art community since the 1970s, it’s a rare opportunity to meet artists and acquire original work directly from the studio.
Joe Bloch, a DUMBO-based artist, will open his studio for the event. This is an opportunity to view and purchase original work directly from the artist, with pieces available across a range of sizes and price points. Experience raw, physical paintings built from paint, collage, and materials — work that’s difficult to capture on screen and best seen in person. Bloch works directly with collectors, offering straightforward guidance on selecting pieces that fit their space, scale, and aesthetic—whether starting a collection or adding to an existing one.

About Artist Joe Bloch
Joe Bloch is a Brooklyn-based artist creating raw, layered paintings rooted in street culture, abstraction, and industrial texture. Built by hand using paint, collage, cardboard, and found materials, each piece develops through a physical, intuitive process of layering, removal, and reworking—resulting in surfaces that carry depth, history, and unpredictability.
The work is intentionally imperfect and materially driven, designed to hold presence in a space rather than sit flat on a screen. Subtle shifts in light, texture, and surface reveal themselves over time, making each piece a more immersive, in-person experience.
